CHAPTER 10
Though we would never get tired of exploring Coulliour’s winding alleys or lounging on the peaceful beaches, one sunny morning we thought we would change it up a bit and go on a little international-adventure. Our plan was to drive the quick two hours south across the border and see the sites of Barcelona. In particular, I was eager to see how much progress they had made on Gaudi’s most daring opus, the Sagrada Familia, in the past 15 years since my last encounter with the beguiling basilica. Kacey and I had both been there in past lives, but it would be new to Jossie and the boys. Unfortunately, it was destined to stay that way, as it apparently has become an overwhelmingly popular tourist attraction in the last decade and a half, requiring ticket reservations many weeks in advance. Needless to say, we were only able to enjoy the towering spires from outside the gates, but rest assured we will be back. The rest of the day was spent rambling down Las Ramblas, a-thankyou.
